Nearly 21 years of Army service. Nursing and public health leadership. A practical approach to helping people prepare, perform, and improve.

The person behind CSG

Experience that connects
people and performance.

Joel founded Centurio Strategies Group LLC to bring strategy, training, and operational readiness together. His background spans Army medical service, nursing leadership, public health operations, and hands-on instruction. CSG’s immediate focus is helping workplace groups build practical First Aid/CPR/AED skills, alongside focused medical response and readiness discussions with law enforcement agencies.

What connects that work is a commitment to preparation: understanding the task, teaching the required skills, observing performance, and using what is learned to improve the next response.

Professional foundation

Service. Leadership.
Instruction.

The value of experience is what it helps a client accomplish.

01

Nearly 21 years of Army service

Joel served from June 2001 through April 2022 and retired honorably as a Sergeant First Class (E-7). His service records document Health Care Specialist (68W) and Recruiter (79R) specialties, with overseas service in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Poland, including two separately recorded Iraq service periods.

His military education includes the 16-week Emergency Medical Technician–Ambulance Course (2002), the 56-week Practical Nurse Course (2003), and the Medic Tables Validation Course (2011). Additional education includes leadership, battle staff, training-plan development, and training-management courses.

Alongside that documented education, Joel brings experience instructing medic-table skills and conducting validation activities supporting operational readiness and NREMT-related requirements. This informs his emphasis on supervised practice, clear standards, feedback, and demonstrated performance.

Selected military recognition

His retirement record lists the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (four awards), and Army Achievement Medal (four awards), among other decorations. These selected awards complement a career of medical service, senior enlisted responsibility, and workforce development.

Prior service is professional background; it is not a claim of current military or NREMT certification.

02

Nursing and public health leadership

Joel’s professional background includes public health nursing executive work and healthcare operations. His experience spans workforce alignment, service delivery, logistics, procurement, and the practical systems that support people doing essential work.

His credentials are MSN, BA-HR, RN, and PHN. His approach connects frontline understanding with planning, coordination, and follow-through.

03

Adjunct teaching and curriculum development

In a separate adjunct role at Southeast Technical College, Joel teaches LE 119, a first responders course for law enforcement students. After taking responsibility for the course with limited existing instructional resources, he developed a structured block of instruction guided by the law enforcement program’s student guide and course expectations.

This teaching experience helped motivate further Red Cross instructor qualifications and CSG’s LTP agreement. The adjunct role is separate from CSG; the college does not sponsor or endorse CSG’s services.
